Gundo Scoop

Homestate’s soft opening is this week
You might’ve seen it earlier in this newsletter, but The Point’s new restaurant is soft opening on Tuesday. There are events and specials all week leading up to the official opening on Saturday the 19th.

Spread, Please is getting a permanent location
El Segundo’s viral and nomadic burger spot is settling down. It’s moving into the plaza on Grand into the spot that was most recently QD’s (and, before that, Stix & Straws).

The annual Thriller dance workshop is back
Join the grand El Segundo tradition. The practices are on Thursday evenings.

ESHS Cheerleaders are offering babysitting for Back to School Night
The elementary schools have Back to School night on September 17th, which is a no-kids event. Register now for this babysitting fundraiser that’s a real win-win.

We’re Sam and Angie Greenspan, El Segundo residents and since 2016 and major El Segundo boosters ever since.

We also believed we were the right people to give this town its first newsletter.

Angie’s a realtor who works here in town and all over L.A. — so she’s plugged in to everything happening and has been a de facto source for local event info for years. Sam’s a writer and works in email marketing.
