Hello, Gundo 👋
We may be in the dog days of summer but the events aren’t slowing down.
This week we’ve got Go Fly a Kite Day, the annual Movie in the Park, National Night Out, and dozens of other things to do each and every day. Plus Restaurant Week is still going on and there are free movies, concerts, and activities everywhere you look.
As always, if and when new events pop up or any details change, we’ll share them on the Hello Gundo Instagram.

Restaurant Week Continues On
DineLA’s Restaurant Week started last Friday and runs through August 8th. Lots of El Segundo restaurants are participating with prix fixe menus — which are a great way to try a new restaurant.

New in El Segundo: Studio Golf Club
The new high-tech indoor golf and fitness club has opened. It’s at 2201 Park Place (that’s off Douglas, near Rosecrans) and looks extremely impressive.
It’s 60th Reunion Time for the ESHS Class of ‘65
There are reunion events all over this weekend, including a gathering at Brewport Tap House on Saturday night for all 1960s ESHS classes.
It’s time to enter the El Segundo Art Walk’s Community Photo Contest
Enter your photo of “life in El Segundo” to be displayed during the Art Walk at the El Segundo Public Library. There are prizes for four different age groups (5-12, 13-17, 18-55, and 56+). Entries are due by August 15th.

Who are you and why are you doing this?
We’re Sam and Angie Greenspan, El Segundo residents and since 2016 and major El Segundo boosters ever since.
We also believed we were the right people to give this town its first newsletter.
Angie’s a realtor who works here in town and all over L.A. — so she’s plugged in to everything happening and has been a de facto source for local event info for years. Sam’s a writer and works in email marketing.
