We have 100+ events and deals this week to close out September with a bang. There’s another pro sports team moving to the town — that makes five that call El Segundo home. None of it makes sense, in the best possible way.

Gundo Scoop

La Paz is closed for 1-2 weeks
There was a scary incident at La Paz on Tuesday night when a driver accidentally crashed through the front window. Everyone is ok, but La Paz is closed for 1-2 weeks to repair. That’s obviously really tough news for a small, local restaurant so make sure to support them when they’re open again.

The LA Sparks are officially coming to El Segundo!
The rumors have come true: The LA Sparks of the WNBA are officially moving to town. They’ll be opening their brand new training and practice facility here in 2027. This makes El Segundo the only city in the entire country to be the home of five pro sports teams. (Football, hockey, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and rugby.)

Who are you and why are you doing this?

We’re Sam and Angie Greenspan, El Segundo residents and since 2016 and major El Segundo boosters ever since.

We also believed we were the right people to give this town its first newsletter.

Angie’s a realtor who works here in town and all over L.A. — so she’s plugged in to everything happening and has been a de facto source for local event info for years. Sam’s a writer and works in email marketing.
